Multi-day program: Inclusive Leadership

We're going on an adventure, want to join us?
Leadership is about who you are; about how you interact with the people around you. Those close by and far away. Are you able to be truly curious about what moves the people around you? Can you tell when they are the best version of themselves? It helps to first discover that about yourself, then you can recognise it in someone else.

Everyone talks about having impact. We want our work to matter. Sometimes that’s defined by big things: creating a vision that appeals to the imagination. Most of the time it’s in the small things: simply asking a colleague how they are, making time for a cup of coffee with someone who needs it, paying attention to the ordinary things. It may not sound very heroic, but that’s where you can truly touch people. From human to human.

We’d like to take you on a journey in the Netherlands. To discover a world different to yours. Close to home. To learn together and work on challenges that truly matter, with leaders from a social partner organisation. Stepping in through human connection, beyond CVs and business cards. That can sometimes be uncomfortable and awkward, yet is always fun, inspiring and surprising.

The build-up of the program

  1. Step 1: 29, 30 Sept & 1 Oct 2021
    What we're going to do
Meet your travelling companions: getting to know each other beyond CVs, business cards and (unconscious) biases. Step into new a world, explore the field of your social partner and learn about their challenge. Time to explore and meet the stakeholders. Dream dinner. Personal coaching. From your arrival to the moment we wave goodbye, you’ll be touched and inspired. Even during breakfast and dinners we’ll reflect or learn something new.

What you'll get out of it
Reconnect with yourself; work and reflect on your own leadership. Become aware of your own biases. Dive headfirst into unexpected encounters. Gather new perspectives. Explore the world and challenges of an idealistic/social organisation.

This multi-day adventure will take place in the Netherlands and includes spending the night at a hotel. The logistics (food & drinks, place to stay, etc) will be arranged by Better Future. You just have to make sure that you find your way to the location. The specifics will be shared with you closer to the date.
  2. Step 2: TBD, Oct 2021
Intervision session online. Check-in. Guided intervision sessions focused on concrete challenges that are relevant for you right now. Learning with and from others.
  3. Step 3: TBD, Oct 2021
One-on-one coaching. Together, we delve deeper into your question. What do you need to be the best version of yourself?
  4. Step 4: 10, 11, 12 Nov 2021
    What we're going to do
A deep dive. To reconnect and elaborate on the social partner’s challenge; explore and share possible solutions with stakeholders; gain inspiration from unusual suspects; reflect on your own leadership style, one-on-one and together; celebrate successes and learnings.

What you'll get out of it
You’ll grow as a leader, with a more inclusive perspective and awareness. You’ll create impact with and for the social partner. You’ll make friends for life.

Instead I became a business activist: enabling people to be the best version of themselves; to commit to what really makes a difference. I believe that everyone wants that but doesn’t know where to begin. I’ve learnt that small changes can have a huge impact. So dream big, start small.”

Annemarie de Jong brings 20+ years of experience as a strategic adviser, consultant, and executive coach to leading national and multinational organisations. She’s on a mission to turn every business into a force for good, with leadership as the starting point. Everything she does stems from creativity inspired by art, and her innate sense of humor.

Having conducted extensive research in Organisational Philosophy and gained Masters’ in both Organisational Psychology and Business Administration, Annemarie is equipped to unite her sharp eye for people, group dynamics and personal leadership to transform organisations. Her style is energetic, down-to-earth, and straight-forward when guiding people and companies to dig deep and develop behavioural change.
